In addition to our Patient & Family training, information pertinent to volunteering in an inpatient setting as well as including any new Sacred Heart policies and procedures needed. The training will be over 2 days Wednesday August 2nd and Friday August 4th from 11am – 3pm on both days, lunch will be provided.
Here's some examples of ways that anyone can help:
· Reception – greeting visitors and escorting to patient rooms
· Welcoming – visiting patient and family to deliver gift bag
· Family room – making coffee, providing snacks, visiting with family members, activities for children visitors
· Quick response for call lights, refreshing water pitchers, getting needed nursing assistance
· Sitting with patients while family members take a break
· Listening to patients and their loved ones with caring and compassion
We are also looking for people with special backgrounds and skills:
· Veterans and active duty military to honor veteran patients
· Licensed Massage Therapists to provide gentle touch massage for patients
· Certified pet companionship visits
· Volunteers to sing or play musical instrument at the bedside
· Volunteers who would like to provide spiritual support
Volunteers can choose their own schedule and are needed between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm, Monday through Sunday.
