Time: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM CST
Event Description:

During BRACE’s Neighborhood Preparedness Workshop, Al Henderson and Suprena Fletcher from the Escambia Pensacola Human Relations Commission will be highlighting fair housing laws, discussing who is protected, what housing is subject to the laws, housing exemptions, prohibited conduct, and steps to take if you feel you have been discriminated against. There are federal, state, and local laws that prohibit discrimination in the rental, sale, insuring, and financing of housing based on protected characteristics that include race, religion, color, sex, national origin, familial status, age, gender status, and disability to name a few. Providing safe and secure shelter is a top priority recovery groups address during a disaster.
