Artist Talk: Dr. Patrick M. Rowe

Join us for a walking gallery tour of Mucha: Master Artist of Art Nouveau (Selected Works from the Rowe Collection) where Dr. Rowe will discuss the evolution of Alphonse Mucha's Art Nouveau style. The works of Czech-born graphic artist Alphonse Mucha are icons of the Art Nouveau period. Mucha's designs for various objects (such as posters, menus, book and magazine covers, folder covers, and postcards) exemplify the organic and ornate character of his style. The works in the exhibition are primarily from the private collection of Pensacola resident Dr. Patrick M. Rowe. Supplementing these works are prints on loan from the private collection of Jack Rennert (published Mucha scholar and New York City gallery owner), the Tampa Museum of Art, and the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
